Corydon L. Ford papers, 1604-1894 (bulk 1621-1870).

Consists of 19 notebooks with handwritten notes, transcriptions, etc. by C.L. Ford. Some of these notebooks represent early genealogical data gathering efforts, and others are more finished works based on the earlier research notes. Collection includes correspondence written to C.L. Ford in response to his solicitation for information regarding the Ford family in America. Most of these letters are from Ford family members, and give as much information as they knew about their own family history. C.L. Ford incorporated this information into his Ford family notebooks. In 1900, Susan Blanchard Kidder compiled the "Index to Ford genealogy", a bound typescript every name index, arranged by notebook, for the first 18 of the 19 notebooks.
